Spiritual Gift of Wisdom in the Marketplace
The spiritual gift of wisdom is the special ability to spread the awareness of God’s glory by bringing clarity to specific situations through the application of God’s truth.
The spiritual gift of wisdom is different than the spiritual gift of knowledge. Not only do they know the truth, those with the spiritual gift of wisdom know how to apply it to specific situations in everyday life.
Marketplace Christians with the spiritual gift of wisdom are gifted to apply the wisdom of God to specific business situations. God has given to us the Holy Spirit to lead us “into all truth,” and He has given to us His Word, which is full of timeless business wisdom.
Spiritual Gift Recognition Statements

Dave Ramsey uses his spiritual gift of wisdom to help people solve financial problems in accordance with the wisdom of God. Although he refers to the advice he shares on his radio talk show as “common sense for your dollars and cents,” the wisdom he shares with his callers does not seem to be very common.
As people came to hear the wisdom of Solomon thousands of years ago, people call in to the Dave Ramsey Show to ask Dave for wisdom concerning specific financial issues they are having. Through his radio shows, books, and live events, the advice he shares is inspired and informed by biblical principles concerning money and business.
When I was 26, I was $26,000 in debt: student loans, an auto loan, credit card debt, and even a loan to buy an expensive Taylor guitar. During that time, I read Dave Ramsey’s book, Total Money Makeover. Though I had made almost no progress toward paying off my debt prior to reading Dave’s book, I paid-off my $26,000 debt entirely within 12 months after reading it. Dave Ramsey’s spiritual gift of wisdom changed my life.
