Spiritual Gifts of Miracle-Working and Healing in the Marketplace
The spiritual gifts of healing and miracle-working are the special abilities to spread the awareness of God’s glory through altering the natural outcomes of life through God’s supernatural power.
The spiritual gifts of miracle-working and healing often operate together. Nearly all of the miracles and healings of Jesus recorded in the Gospels occurred in the marketplace, and 39 of the 40 miracles and healings recorded in the Book of Acts occurred in the marketplace.

Marketplace Impact
Daniel Gil is a young man who participates in Ninja Warrior, an extremely-difficult and highly-competitive obstacle course contest that is now one of the most popular televised sporting events in the world. He has appeared on national television competing in these contests several times.
Daniel views his platform as a Ninja Warrior contestant as marketplace ministry and an opportunity to use his God-given gifts of miracle-working and healing. God has used him to perform many healing miracles in these Ninja Warrior settings.
In one instance, Daniel was standing in line, waiting for his turn to compete. One of the other contestants in line mentioned that he was experiencing physical pain in his back and did not think he would be able to compete. Feeling compassion for his opponent, Daniel offered to pray for him, which resulted in complete healing. Daniel said,
I have prayed for dozens of people while at competitions, practices, etc.
Sometimes, I will see a physical ailment and then offer prayer. Other times, people will randomly tell me about injuries that they have been dealing with, and I will offer prayer. Either way, I have prayed for everything from twisted ankles, hurt shoulders, bad backs, knees, elbows, joint pain, headaches, and much much more.
The majority of the healings that I see are ones of miraculously speedy, complete recoveries.
I prayed for a friend from the gym who had been suffering from months of back pain. There was no immediate change after prayer, which discouraged us both a little at the time. But then a few months later, he told me that all the pain had completely left without reason a short time (few weeks) after receiving prayer and has since not come back. He just forgot to tell me!
I prayed for a friend from another city during a local Ninja Warrior competition who had been suffering from sharp pain in his elbow for 3-4 months. He didn’t think he could finish the competition because of the pain, but after prayer, he said there was no more pain and finished the competition! He said it was aggravated that same night while lying in bed but has since not had any- more pain from it and has resumed training on it.
While at a competition, I felt led to pray for a woman’s knee. It was in a brace, and she said that she injured it badly while training. After prayer, she said it felt better and that she would be monitoring it to see how quickly it would recover. A few months later, the next time I saw her, she was so excited to tell me that she had just gone running and that recovery went awesome and her knee was feeling great!
I have also gotten to pray for many kids on the Ninja Warrior scene, both in my own gym that I work at and abroad while traveling for competitions and training. I help teach kids’ classes throughout the week and as surely as kids get hurt everywhere else in life, they get hurt at the gym occasionally. It’s not usually anything serious, but to kids, things always seem worse than they really are. I have gotten to pray for and encourage kids all the time. I’ll tell them about how Jesus loves to heal people and that He can take away all the pain they feel. I’ve had many kids thank me, test it out, feel better, and go back to training, knowing that God is real and just took away their pain.”
